Hi — We’re Matthew and Zach, creators and founders of Safe Treats. Along with two of our siblings, we were all born with life-threatening food allergies. Between us, we are severely allergic to dairy, eggs, peanuts, tree nuts, fish, and sunflower. We know firsthand how difficult it can be to find food that is truly safe to eat. For families facing food insecurity on top of food allergies, that challenge can become overwhelming — and even dangerous.

That reality is what inspired us to create SafeTreats.org. What began as a mission to improve access to allergy-friendly food has now grown into an official FARE-backed project, helping bring safe, inclusive food options to those who need them most. Today, Safe Treats is delivering allergy-friendly food and snack boxes to campus pantries across the country, with plans to expand internationally soon.

For those unfamiliar with this issue, imagine arriving at a food pantry in a moment of need, only to find that nothing available is safe for your family to eat. It is an underserved and often overlooked problem, and one we are committed to helping change.

Through SafeTreats.org, you can purchase allergy-friendly snack boxes for yourself or for someone you know who would appreciate them. You can also choose to donate directly to support our mission. Those funds help us continue supplying allergy-friendly food to pantries, increasing access, reducing stress for families, and raising awareness around a daily obstacle faced by so many.
